eTwinning project presentation - Little Citizens in Action!

 Another amazing eTwinning project came to its end! This project was for preschool children!!

The project was about communication, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, friendship, sharing information, habits and routines in the form of drawings.

Our aim and goal was to foster intercultural communication, to bring together young preschoolers from different parts of Europe, in order to share their everyday lives, to understand different cultural backgrounds, to appreciate differences and recognise similarities.

The little pupils showed enthousiasm, commitment and teamwork thoughout the year!!

It was a brilliant experience for all of us! Sit back and take a sneak peek of all the activities we worked on!

Mical, a film about dyslexia

Based on a true story of tenacity, a seven-year-old boy struggles to make sense of words on the page. But when Mike is diagnosed with dyslexia and the teachers continue to fail him, his mother takes matters into her own hands to help her son fulfil his true potential. An Official Selection at the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival 2020, this award-winning film was made to create awareness of children with dyslexia as they are not only being failed, but they are also being damaged. People assume dyslexia is being addressed but in reality, it isn't.

The Wright Brothers - a short biography

Orville and Wilbur Wright are remembered as the inventors of the aeroplane! These American brothers built on the work of others but also conducted their own research and hundreds of experiments to create a 'flying machine' that could really fly.
On December 17th, 1903, the Wright brothers made the first successful manned flight of a heavier-than-air craft under its own power outside of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

This kid-friendly video by Freeschool is filled with facts and information about the Wright brothers and their life. Orville and Wilbur Wright changed history!

Are we running out of clean water?

Let’s Begin…
Despite water covering 71% of the planet’s surface, more than half the world’s population endures extreme water scarcity for at least one month a year. Current estimates predict that by 2040, up to 20 more countries could be experiencing water shortages. These statistics raise a startling question: is the Earth running out of clean water? Balsher Singh Sidhu takes a closer look at water consumption.

A very informative video by TedEd. You can also access the video following this link.

Some words:
cover = καλύπτω
Earth's surface = επιφάνεια της Γης
population = πληθυσμός
endure = υπομένω
water scarcity= water shortage = έλλειψη / ανεπάρκεια νερού
run out = ξεμένω, εξαντλούμαι
consumption = κατανάλωση
footprint = αποτύπωμα
impact = αντίκτυπος

You can look up other unknown words on this online dictionary.

Then answer the following questions.

The E graders are cooking...eTwinning

As part of our eTwinning project called "The ABCD project", my students had a new challenge. They chose healthy and prepared two snacks in class.
They made easy feta cheese balls and yoghurt with fruit and honey!
We had a lot of fun, mixing and adding ingredients...
We enjoyed our breakfast snacks, especially because we made them ourselves.
